Gallery Member: Harry Johnson

Bio: Harry Johnson is a Winnipeg-based photographer, now in his fifth decade of learning about, enjoying, and using photography.  He is a retired health physicist – medical physicist who currently operates a science based business with his daughter.  Harry has been a member of the Manitoba Camera Club for five years.  He enjoys club camaraderie, outings, monthly competitions and the weekly programs.  He photographs in a wide variety of settings, a favourite of which has been the Threshermen’s Reunion at Austin, Manitoba.

What's in your bag: Harry favours his Nikon D300 with the 16-85 mm lens, 70-200 f/2.8 telephoto and a Nikon 105 mm (manual focus) macro lens.  He also carries a D70s body fitted with a 18-70 mm lens or a 70-300 mm lens and a 1.4 x tele extender.  His photo bag contains circular polarizing filters, neutral density filters, graduated density filters, a set of extender tubes for the macro lens, a lens pen for cleaning, and remote releases.  He uses a larger Manfrotto tripod with a ball head.  Harry shoots for colour, monochrome and HDR images.  He processes his images with Photoshop, Nikon Capture NX2 and Dynamic Photo HDR – 4 programs on his laptop.
