Image of the Month: February 2011

The theme for this month's competion was: The Invisible Man

Photographer: Olivia Dolinsky

I was always interested in a personality and a unique protocol role of His Royal Highness Prince Philip. Modesty is a nature of this very bright, brave and noble man. A son of two European royal families (Danish and Greek), he joined British Navy at the age of 18, in which he served during whole World War II. He preferred to drop his titles and used a modest name of Lieutenant Philip Mountbatten when he still was not married.

When I learned that Her Majesty would be visiting Winnipeg, I came to the ceremony with the idea of this shot. I am happy that I managed to implement it exactly as I wanted, to precisely convey the artistic message desired.
